VERY IMPORTANT NOTES - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY.

*****Helmets and Skis
THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT. THE GIRLS MUST HAVE THE CORRECT HELMETS OR THEY WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO RACE.

We know some girls came to Flaine in 2017 with the wrong type of helmet which caused issues on the race day. PLEASE read this very carefully so we can avoid these issues again.

The girls must wear helmets for all training and races, including the parallel slalom and during course inspection as it is an integral part of each race. Helmets must conform to a Competition Standard. ‘Soft Ear’ helmets can be worn for Slalom races but hard shell helmets are mandatory for Giant Slalom. NO Cameras or camera mountings are allowed on helmets. The regulations for helmets are strict and anyone not wearing the correct helmet will not be permitted to race. Please click here to download the Guide to Helmets.

Please make sure you bring the correct helmets to Flaine as you will not be able to hire them in Flaine this year. A well-fitting helmet is essential and passing helmets between team members is not a safe practice.

SKIS

The British Competition Equipment (Ski) rules are changing to allow the use of non-regulation skis in all races except ‘National’ level events. National level events are the three HN Championships (Welsh, Scottish and English) and the British National Championships; at these events full BCR (or FIS as relevant) Equipment Regulations remain in place.

In simple terms, the changes will allow competitors, at non ‘National’ calendar events to use skis that do not conform to the BCR Equipment Regulations. British Schoolgirls' Races is a 'non National event'.

You can download the relevant PDF from British Ski and Snowboard here

For those of you who have ‘Registered Racers’ in your team, there has also been a change in the BASS rules which will help.

You can download that here
