Bank Opening Hours:

The bank is Credit Agricole Tel 0033 4 50 19040 54 found in the upper level of shops in Flaine Forum (Gallerie Marchande)  It is open Tuesday to Friday 8.30 until 12.00 and on Saturday 08.30 until 12.10  They will only change money for anyone holding an account with the branch. There is an ATM outside open 24/7 also one just outside the shopping centre in Flaine Foret.

 

Post Office

Open 08.30 to 11.30 Mon - Fri. (not Thursday) in the cultural centre/library almost opposite the bank in upper level of Galerie Marchande in Flaine Forum. The cultural centre is open daily from 16.00-19.00 except Saturday. Architectural tours of Flaine on Tuesday are run from here.

 

Medical Problems

If one of your party is ill there is a Medical Centre (Cabinet Medical) in the car-park outside the tourist Office The telephone number is 00 33 4 50 90 81 42  This ‘walk-in’ centre has doctors working in rotation, all English speaking.  Opening hours 0900 – 1900 Mon – Sat; and 1000 – 1800 hours on Sundays. In the case of a medical emergency dial 15 or for police 17 and fire 18. Alternatively, the EU Emergency number is 112.

LIFTS

(Ascenseur) known as ‘Red Devils’ there are two LIFTS going between Flaine Foret and Flaine Forum – one between Residences Balance and Belier –ending opposite the Gallerie Marchande in Forum. The other is on the lower floor of the Shopping Precinct in Flaine Foret, and ends at the far end of Rocky Pop Hotel in Forum.

 

Laundry

06 88 05 70 67 found at top level of Flaine Forum (Top of wooden steps) offers linen hire, launderette,etc.

Tue-thur-Fri 0900-1200 and 15.30-18.30 Wed 0900-1200  and Saturday 0900 – 1200 and 1400 -1830

 

Supermarket Sherpa

In Flaine Forum on the lower level of the shopping precinct towards the cable car. Open all day from 0700 until 2000. It is very well stocked.   The bread shop in supermarket has the same hours. Sherpa is providing croissants on Monday for all the racers and supporters so please support them.

 

FLAINE FORET

Spar Supermarket

In Flaine Foret lower level of shops opposite the Auditorium this has expanded, Opening all day 07.30 -2000 next door they sell cooked chickens, fresh meat and cheese also prepared meals.

 

Artisan Boulanger

Situated on the top level of the shops they have a limited number of ‘price restricted’ bagettes and pain.   However they do an interesting selection of other breads and are open all day from 0700 to 1930. 

 

Market

Every Monday afternoon there is a Market in Flaine Foret selling cheese, cold meats, olives & sweets 

 

Apres Ski Restaurant (Formerly Le Pre).

Situated at the bottom of cable car. Great spot for a quick lunch, offers selection of Croque Monsieur’s and other lunch style food.

 

Restauant Bauhaus 

Situated opposite the cable car situated on the ground floor of the new Alhena hotel, offering panoramic views of the ski area and importantly the race slope. A great spot for a hot chocolate or a long lunch. 

 

Evening Meals

For evening meals in Flaine Foret there is Refuge du Skier which has a varied reasonably priced menu. Also Sabaudia which has a small but good menu and Perdrix Noire (in the shopping centre opposite the Auditorium) which offers take away pizzas, bar snacks or Restaurant style meals. 

In Flaine Forum there are restaurants like Brasserie les Chimes and Pizzeria Chez Pierrot, which serve reasonably priced evening meals and Chez Daniel which served traditional mountain recipes. 

There are also more expensive venues such as Chalet Michet, Hotel Totum and three restaurants in Rocky Pop. 

 

Chalet Bissac is good for lunch and drinks and of course opens specially for us on Tuesday evening for a Fondue evening. Booking essential
